Vasectomy is a permanent method of birth control for men. It is a simple operation done in the doctor’s office, in which the tubes in the scrotum (vasa deferens) are cut and sealed. This prevents sperm from traveling from the testicles (where they are produced) to the urethra (where they mix with the semen), thus preventing pregnancy.
It does not change your sexuality. Your body continues to produce hormones that make you a man. You continue to have the same amount of semen. Vasectomy does not change your beard, muscles, sex drive, erections, or climax. Some men report that without fear of pregnancy, sex is more enjoyable.
